I was going to use this entry to include some links to some pictures but I no longer have access to where it was. It's a good lesson: when someone posts pictures, be sure to download the ones you want to keep (right-click over the picture then "Save Picture As...") since you never know what might happen.

Coachella '07

April 27-29, 2007: The Coachella Festival in Indio, CA. Good times.

Heath and Jerry, consistent companions for the event: My truck:
On the way into the event, there was an ice cream truck giving out free ice cream. There was apparently a promotion with the new White Stripes album and some of the treats came in these boxes. While the ice cream was delicious, I didn't get the album until a few months later.

Early the first day at the festival:

In the beer tent. Yes, it's a lovely picture of Jerry but I was actually trying to get a shot of the girl behind him (facing toward me, I didn't realize at the time):

Watching Gillian Welch, Jarvis Cocker walked up and stood this far from us. I took this picture just to prove it then promptly left, not being able to exist in such a close promixity. And if you don't know who Jarvis Cocker is, you need better music:

The lovely and charming Vanessa, who was only with us for one of the days but whose smile is even brighter than the desert sun:
As close as we got to the Amy Winehouse performance (behind that punk's armband) then we left to see the Arctic Monkeys.

Then the picture that Zara took of me from her (considerably better) camera: I don't know what my point of taking these was since I knew they'd turn out crappy but this is the beginning of the Lily Allen performance and as close as I got to her (keeping in mind I had my camera's zoom cranked up as close as it'd go):
