Indiana '06, part 1: Thanksgiving Down Home

In November 2006 I was in Indiana. That's where I grew up and I go back about every three Summers or so but I didn't go back earlier in the year so I was overdue. I haven't been in Indiana for Thanksgiving since about 1988 so I decided it would be a good time to go, especially to have the holiday with my Granny and other relatives, some of which I haven't seen in almost 20 years. I was there for a little over a week and it was a good trip but, in typical fashion, I didn't think to take a lot of pictures, even though I now have a reliable camera. We (Granny, cousin Arleana, and myself) went to Kentucky – “Down Home” -- for Thanksgiving Day and it was certainly picture-worthy. My relatives there (mostly assorted great-aunts and third- or fourth-cousins) have a house they built that they use for special occasions and events. It's well away from civilization, even more than most of Kentucky is (I joke), taking a back-road to a back-road to a back-road to get there, down a dirt-road, etc. The house has working electricity but no running water. Which meant, yes, it has an outhouse. Which I used (though for #1, not #2). Not as much an adventure as you may think but it was a great Thanksgiving and a great trip. The house itself was endlessly fascinating to me so I tried to canvass it with pictures, which I will let speak for themselves:
